Chapter 2 - Why are we here?

Man has been an explorer of the world and a student of life since the beginning of time. Many spend time trying to solve this question and unlock the mysteries of life, hoping to find the answers. We search outside of ourselves for the answers, hoping to find some kind of physical proof, without realizing the answers are not physical. The answers we are searching for can only be found in the Truth, and the knowledge of the Truth is within our souls. The exploration of the soul is the key to discovering the meaning of life and why we are here.

The exploration of the soul cannot be accomplished by science or searching the material world for answers. The exploration of the soul requires going within, becoming conscious and connecting with the soul. This is the discovery and satisfaction of the need to understand the mysteries of life, to realize what really matters, and to achieve true inner peace, contentment, and satisfaction.

We have become blind to what really matters. We are only aware of what matters when our lives are not working or when a crisis affects our lives. The turbulent nature of the world today and our complicated, fast-paced lives are causing us to ask the questions, “Why am I here?” and  “What is life really about?”

To realize why we are here is to realize what truly matters in life by becoming conscious of the Truth. The ascending masters spent time on earth to teach us why we are here. Man’s ego, realizing the power of their message, has taken the message and defined it to fit man’s needs. This has created the distortions, confusion, and misunderstandings of why we are here. The awareness of the Truth is within each of our beings, but it is breaking free from the unconscious stigmas and traditions that is the challenge.

The purpose of human life is for the growth and development of our souls as we learn life’s lessons on the path to enlightenment. We are guided on our path by living consciously from the knowledge within our souls, and by the divine guidance we receive from God and the Universe. Living consciously is being an active participant or co-creator in your life’s journey. Living unconsciously is like existing in the shadow of your life by simply going through the motions.

We are living in a great time of change, and the next frontier is not further exploration of the wonders of earth and space. The next frontier is the exploration of our souls and the search for consciousness. It is up to us to focus on why we are here, realize what truly matters, and create an environment that supports a conscious lifestyle.

Chapter 5 - The Truth

The Truth is God’s message taught to us by all the ascending masters. God’s message of the Truth is love. The value of the Truth is love and its qualities of integrity, humility, peace, compassion, and forgiveness.

The Truth is universal, unites all faiths, and remains the same, regardless of one’s religious faith, philosophy, or spiritual orientation. The Truth is at the foundation of all faiths and is taught by all faiths in some manner, but applying it to everyday life and living it is not.

The Truth and the Truth of Human Life are described and explained in chapters 5 and 6 respectively.

Chapter 15 - Life’s Lessons

We are here to learn from our experiences. Life’s experiences are for the purpose of learning life’s lessons and the growth of our souls. Life’s lessons are about learning one or more of the values of the Truth. The values of the Truth are love and its qualities of integrity, humility, peace, compassion, and forgiveness.

Human life and all that seems so important on the surface is just an illusion. The reality of life and what matters is love. We are here to learn love, and all of life’s lessons lead to learning love, which is to learn the values of the Truth. Realizing this is to embrace life and strive to live authentically.

Life’s experiences are the results of the karma we bring to this lifetime, the karma we create due to the choices we make, and the intentions of our thoughts and actions. Life’s lessons are learned from the experiences of our mistakes, errors, successes, and failures. All of life’s lessons lead to learning the values of the Truth, and the values of the Truth are the cause of our experiences.

Life’s lessons are not about punishment, guilt, or shame. When your efforts are sincere, all choices are right. In some cases, when you make a choice you feel is right and it turns out to be not what you expected, know the outcome is part of the learning process. Life’s lessons are learned from living life, and this includes the positive and negative experiences. The journey is about doing your best to learn and live the values of the Truth, and that you try. Know success is in the trying.

Chapter 17 - It Is Up To Us

Why we are here is evident in our creation and in our will to live. When we are faced with our own mortality or the loss of a loved one, we quickly realize what matters. All of us know that love is what matters, but we do not live what matters. We only live what matters in those moments when there has been a wake-up call that gets our attention; then we return to our everyday lives and wonder why things are not working.

We are living in a great time of change. We are living lives of conflict, stress, and frustration in a complicated world of fear and anger. This has become the norm, but none of us really like it, and we wish it would change. The turbulence, stress, and unrest are all part of the changing times we are experiencing. Wake-up calls are occurring constantly for us individually, as well as the entire population. The Truth has started to surface and is being realized more and more. The Truth has always been there, but it has just been covered up by distortions, contradictions, and misunderstandings.

Living the Truth is difficult when the focus of our lives is the superficial, material world. The ego is one excuse, but it is more than that. It is our misguided focus and priorities. We have come so far, yet we do not focus on why we are here. We have received the message of the Truth from the ascending masters and we hold the message in high regard, but we fail to really teach it and live it. We do not teach love, kindness, integrity, humility, compassion, or forgiveness as a way of life.

The Truth is universal, consistent, basic, pure, and uncomplicated. The values of the Truth instruct us how to live. It is up to each of us to become aware of the Truth from within our souls, and to live what we know to be true. When we live from within our soul and live what matters, life becomes satisfying and meaningful. It is up to us to live the reason we are here, individually and collectively, and change our lives and the world for the betterment of mankind.
